ATHLETICS

In the Jesuit tradition, our athletes learn that sports are a means to a greater end: they promote discipline and teamwork.  And because our student-athletes play on teams with young men from all over the metropolitan area, players learn the great lesson of diversity and the value of multiple approaches towards the same goal.

Fordham Prep teams participate in 18 sports with 40 interscholastic teams.  Last year hundreds of students participated in our athletic program.  Most teams participate in the Catholic High Schools’ Athletic Association (CHSAA), and Fordham Prep varsity teams have won over 40 CHSAA City and State Championships since 2001.

Students enjoy the use of the Prep’s own practice field, track, fitness center and two gyms in addition to University facilities, including fields, tennis courts and pool.

All athletes need a current physical (within one year of physical examination) and an emergency card on file with the school nurse before participating in any practices or games. Physical forms and emergency cards are available from the School Nurse's office and at the reception desk.
