Rob Coughlin P’15

VARSITY HEAD COACH

Coach Coughlin grew up in Manhasset, New York, where he played lacrosse at Saint Mary’s High School and was a member of the 1980 Long Island Catholic League Lacrosse Champions. After high school, he went on to play midfield at Princeton University between 1981 and 1984.  After college he played for several years with the New York Athletic Club and also ran a youth program in Manhattan.  Coach Coughlin is a member of the Manhasset Lacrosse Hall of Fame and sits on the board of CityLax and Friends of Princeton Lacrosse.

Robert is the father of triplets, daughter Claire and sons Eamon ‘15 and Patrick ‘15, both of whom played lacrosse at the Prep. Coach Coughlin is most excited to coach student-athletes at a Jesuit institution with a rich tradition of both academic and athletic excellence

Joe Shanagan

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR

Joe previously coached for four years at Lynbrook HS on Long Island. In college he was a three year starter and team captain at defense for the University of Pennsylvania and was named the Quakers’ Most Value Player his junior year. During his high school career at Lynbrook, his team won the 2000 state title and two section championships. Joe currently is a Lieutenant for the FDNY at Engine 79 in the Bronx.

Connor Brown ‘09

OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR

A native of Pleasantville, at the Prep Connor was a three year varsity letter-winner and was named team captain, as well as team MVP, during both his junior and senior seasons. Throughout his playing career, he was named All-Conference Second Team once, All-Conference First Team and All-Metro 2x as well as All-League 3x. He also was selected to the 20-man roster for the 2008 Hudson Valley Empire State Games where his team placed 3rd, earning a bronze medal. Connor finished his Fordham Prep lacrosse career with a total of 198 points including 110 goals and 88 assists. His 198 points were ranked 4th all-time in the program’s history when he was inducted.

After Fordham Prep, he went on to play for Colgate University. During his Junior campaign in 2012, he helped the Raiders earn an at large bid to the NCAA tournament, defeating nationally ranked #1 UMass in the first round before ultimately falling to Duke in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Colgate finished that season ranked 8th nationally. Connor returned to the Prep in 2022 as the Assistant Dean of Students and also coaches the JV football team.

Seann Farrell

JUNIOR VARSITY HEAD COACH

Sean comes to Fordham Prep from Seton Hall Prep in New Jersey, where he coached the Freshmen Lacrosse team and was an assistant coach on the Varsity Football team. He is currently coaching the Freshmen Football team at the Prep. Sean played football and lacrosse at New Jersey power Delbarton HS before heading to play football at Fordham University as a 2005 graduate.

JV ASSISTANT COACH

Coach Sluka grew up in Locust Valley, New York, where he played football and lacrosse at Kellenberg Memorial High School.  As a senior captain, he led the Firebirds to the NSCHSAA AA Championship while being selected as an All-League defenseman. Coach Sluka was named to Monsignor Peters’ Golden Eleven, honoring the top 11 student-athletes in the NYCHSFL. Currently, he starts on the Fordham University Club Lacrosse team as a defenseman and defensive coordinator and is a Junior at Fordham University majoring in finance.
