Steven Piacente ‘00 Inducted into Lacrosse Hall of Fame
/The Fordham Prep Lacrosse Season Kickoff and Hall of Fame Induction ceremony held at Rory Dolan’s Friday, March 15th was a resounding success! Over 130 lacrosse players, family, and alumni gathered to recapture the memories from previous years, look ahead to an exciting new season, and honor Steven Piacente ‘00 as our newest inductee into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame (bio below). The evening included a special presentation by the family of Chris Duffy ‘96, blessing the unretiring of his #41 jersey and bestowing the honor to the Ram who will wear it this season. Congratulations to James Spring ‘24 (Bronxville) on being selected with the honor as the first recipient to wear #41 again. More to come on this special new tradition in the near future.
We are also happy to announce a friend of the program and longtime supporter of Fordham Prep Lacrosse has graciously offered to pick up the full cost of the team’s Spring trip to Florida.
Thanks to the donations of our guests, Silent Auction donors, Raffle donors and our dinner sponsors, we raised over $20,000 for the lacrosse program, which will go a long way to underwriting season expenses and future program initiatives. We will also be sending two Bronx Lacrosse boys to the Prep’s HAP program this summer! If you are not familiar with what a great organization Bronx Lacrosse is, we suggest you check out this video. We continue to have a strong relationship with them and look forward to continuing our involvement with these boys living right in the Prep’s backyard.
Thank you to all who contributed! The Top Corner Club, Fordham Prep Lacrosse coaching staff, and players greatly appreciate all of your support and generosity. We hope to see you at our home opener this Saturday, March 23rd vs. Bethlehem Central and will keep you posted on additional Fordham Prep Lacrosse events. Be on the lookout for our season preview which will hit inboxes this week.
For those who missed the dinner and would like to donate, you can do so here.
