Varsity and JV Seasons End With Losses in CHSAA Semi-Finals and Championship

****The Alumni Game and Family BBQ is scheduled for next Saturday, June 1st at the Prep.  We’d love to see a great turnout and the sooner we know numbers the better.  All alumni, friends, parents, family are welcome.  To help with organizing and numbers, please register through the google form (here).****

Both the Varsity and JV seasons came to an end last week with losses in the CHSAA playoffs.  The Varsity fell to Stepinac 14 - 8 in the semi-finals and the Crusaders then went on to beat Iona Prep 14 - 9 for the CHSAA title.  The JV beat Stepinac 14 - 10 in the semi-finals before falling to Iona Prep 14 - 7 in the Championship.  Keep your eyes out for the season recap coming to your email sometime in the next few weeks.

In the Varsity game, Stepinac came out strong taking an early 4 - 0 lead in the first few minutes before the Prep settled down to cut the lead to three.  Two more from the Crusaders made it 6 - 1 at the end of the first quarter and Stepinac extended the lead to six before the Rams made it 8 - 2 midway through the second quarter.  Fordham couldn’t close the gap in the third quarter as both teams traded goals, but the Rams won the fourth quarter outscoring the Crusaders, however ran out of time as the final whistle blew a 14 - 8 final.

The 2024 team picked up a plethora of end of season awards; deserving acknowledgements for the boy’s accomplishments on the field.  The following were recognized for their performances this season:
