****The Alumni Game and Family BBQ is set for the afternoon of Sunday, June 7th (register here).  All members of the Prep lacrosse community are encouraged to come and enjoy an afternoon of lacrosse, food, and fun. We would love to see parents, alums and their kids, current players, and parents of alums. Even if you don't intend to play, come and watch and enjoy the food and festivities.****

The Rams started the week with a hard fought battle against Stepinac, losing 8 - 5.  The teams traded goals for the first half, knotted up at 1 - 1 and 3 - 3 after the first two quarters.  The back and forth continued until late in the third quarter when the Crusaders took a 6 - 5 lead with two seconds remaining.  After notching two more scores in the fourth quarter Stepinac pivoted to running out the clock with their possessions, leaving the Prep offense limited time to come back, and taking the 8 - 5 victory.  The Rams will have another chance at the Crusaders as they face each other tomorrow in the CHSAA semi-finals.

The boys shook off the Stepinac loss for the most exciting game of the season, a double OT victory on Saturday against Greenwich High School (CT).  After a slow start, where the Prep spotted the Cardinals a 4 - 0 lead, the defense led by Jakob Gilbert ‘26 (Bedford), Nicholas Marciano ‘26 (Eastchester), Collin Waters ‘27 (Manhattan), and Cash Berner ‘27 (Rye), shut down the Greenwich offense.  The Rams offense woke up to eventually even the score and forced extra time.  In the second OT, Owen Iannarone ‘27 (New Rochelle) won the faceoff and found John Denning ‘28 (Bronxville) who dished it to Ryan Bracchitta ‘27 (Scarsdale), who ripped it past the Greenwich keeper for the 7 - 6 win.  Check out the video of the score (here).

It was a fitting end on Murphy Field for the six Prep seniors on Senior Day.  Congratulations to Dima Athanason ‘26 (Mamaroneck), Will Freel ‘26 (Manhattan), Jakob Gilbert ‘26, Parker Kortye ‘26 (Manhattan), Nicholas Marciano ‘26, Paul Olivo ‘26 (Crestwood), and Drew Pagen ‘26 (Rye) on your Fordham Prep lacrosse careers.

Congratulations to Berner ‘27 on registering two assists, the first points of his career, in the Greenwich game.  Berner ‘27 has also surpassed 200 saves for the second straight season and currently has 531 during his three year tenure.  Congrats as well to Freel ‘26 (31G/21A) and Bracchitta ‘27 (47G/6A) who both registered their 50th career points last week.

The JV Rams finished their regular season strong with a four game win streak including 11 - 10 win over Stepinac and a 5 - 3 win over Greenwich High School.  Coach McQuade and the boys take their 11 - 3 record into the playoffs versus Stepinac at home on Wednesday.
