We’re excited to kick off another Fordham Prep lacrosse season and are looking forward to once again keeping the Prep lacrosse community abreast of all things FP lax related.

The Fordham Prep Lacrosse Season Kickoff and Hall of Fame Induction ceremony held at Rory Dolan’s Friday, March 15th was a resounding success!  Over 130 lacrosse players, family, and alumni gathered to recapture the memories from previous years, look ahead to an exciting new season, and honor Steven Piacente ‘00 as our newest inductee into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Another season of Fordham Prep lacrosse is behind us and it certainly was a memorable one to build on the program’s history.  The 2023 squad made it to the CHSAA ‘AA’ semifinal game, unfortunately losing to Iona Prep. 

This year’s Alumni Game and Family BBQ was held at the Prep on Saturday with over 25 alumni coming back to the Prep to prove that they still got it out on the field.

The Prep’s season came to an end with a loss to Iona Prep in the CHSAA playoffs as the Rams hung tight for the majority of the game, staying within striking distance into the fourth quarter. 

The Prep went 2 and 1 on the week with dominant wins over Long Island Lutheran and Kennedy Catholic before falling on Saturday to Wilton (CT).

The Prep went 2 - 1 last week with a dominant win against Riverdale Country Day and a close one goal loss to Kellenberg, before rebounding with a solid win against Greenwich on Senior Day.

This past week the Rams dropped both games to Iona Prep and Rye while the St. John the Baptist contest was canceled due to weather. 

The Prep played two solid games this past week, dominating in a win against Hackley, but falling just short by a goal in the last minute to #1 Lohud.com ranked Stepinac.

The Prep took home a victory against Trinity, 13 - 6, before heading off later in the week on their Spring Break trip to North Carolina.

Prep rebounded from its loss to McQuaid Jesuit with a thrilling double overtime win on Tuesday against St. Dominic’s. It was a back and forth game, 4 - 3 at the half and 6 - 6 at the end of regulation, before Jack Freel ‘23 (Manhattan) scored the game winner driving from behind the goal in the second overtime.

The inaugural NY Jesuit Lacrosse Classic this weekend was a great success as the Prep hosted the teams from Belen Jesuit (Miami, FL) and McQuaid Jesuit (Rochester, NY). The teams played against each other over the weekend and all three came together for a dinner at the Prep Saturday evening.

The Fordham Prep lacrosse season started with a bang as the Rams executed a dominating 18 - 0 victory over St. Joseph’s by the Sea on Murphy Field.

The Fordham Prep Lacrosse Season Kickoff and Hall of Fame Induction ceremony held at Downey’s Bar & Grill Saturday, March 18th was a resounding success! Over 100 lacrosse players, family, alumni, and alumni parents gathered to recapture the memories from previous years, look ahead to an exciting new season, and honor and induct former varsity Head Coach Len DeLucia P’09 into our Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

The rain fell all morning, but by the afternoon the clouds parted and we had dry weather and some sun for this year’s Alumni Game and Family BBQ. Over 25 alumni came back to the Prep to prove that they still got it out on the field, plus a handful of other alums and their families, as well as some current player parents, cheered from the sidelines.

The Prep continued its recent strong play and finished up the regular season on a four game win streak with victories last week over Long Island Lutheran and St. Joseph - Metuchen (NJ).

Fordham started the week off with a tough loss to rival Iona Prep 18 - 6. The Rams rebounded in their next game by beating Byram Hills 13 - 7 in a back and forth one goal game until the fourth quarter when the Prep defense clamped down on the Bobcats.
